The new all-electric ID. Cross

Volkswagen's 'Pure Positive' design language is translated into a modern SUV form in the ID. Cross. Clear lines, premium details, and balanced proportions create a confident presence. Slim, high-positioned headlights and the optionally available light strips with illuminated Volkswagen logos at the front and rear give it high recognition value.

From the side, the ID. Cross also reveals plenty of character. Glossy black A-, B-, and C-pillars, the roof rail, and optional design inserts in the C-pillar give it a powerful silhouette. Robust door cladding and wheel arches emphasize its SUV character. Optionally available 20-inch lightweight alloy wheels complete the strong appearance. Yet it remains practical: the larger rear door opening makes boarding from behind more comfortable.

With its optional IQ.LIGHT – LED matrix headlights, you maintain better visibility in the dark. They illuminate the road with precision and adjust their light to avoid blinding other road users. The 3D daytime running light signature makes the new front end particularly distinctive: several staggered elements beneath the light strip create an impressive depth effect and give the ID. Cross a distinctive face even in daylight.

The ID. Cross’ optional electric front seats with 12 different adjustment options make it easy to find your ideal seating position and also offer a pneumatic lumbar massage with three programs, offering noticeably more comfort on both long and short journeys. The driver’s seat can also save your preferred position with the optional memory function.

The ID. Cross makes your journeys more enjoyable, from start to finish. The 26 cm (10.2 inch) Digital Cockpit Pro and central 32.7 cm (12.9 inch) touch display are easy to both see and touch. Physical buttons under the display, the volume control and the multifunction steering wheel provide direct access to important functions for straightforward and intuitive operation. The centre armrest complete with stowage area creates additional space for anything you need close to hand while out and about.
The ID. Light – which is available as standard on Style – delivers key information in an intuitive way inside the vehicle. The light strip runs on into the doors and supports the driver with easy-to-understand signals while driving or when getting out of the vehicle, for example. For those looking for a crisp, rich sound, there is the optional Harman Kardon sound system with 425 watts of total power and ten loudspeakers including a centre speaker and subwoofer.
And the ID. Cross offers full relaxation on even the longest journeys: The optional electric front seats with massage function offer three different massage programs with air cushions and pneumatic lumbar support. On the driver’s side, the memory function saves your preferred sitting position at the touch of a button.
And if you’ve got a bit of extra luggage, don’t worry, the ID. Cross is flexible with a luggage compartment that offers up to 475 litres of volume. The folding backrests on the second row of seats enable the luggage compartment to be increased if necessary. Handy for bulky purchases, luggage and equipment. 

The optional IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights with 3D LED taillights which feature lighting strips that run between the headlights and tail light clusters, improve visibility to striking effect, which is only enhanced by the illuminated Volkswagen logos.
The improved lighting power of the dipped beam impresses particularly in the dark and in tricky weather conditions, aided by the poor weather light with its wide but short light cone. Individual LED segments are switched on and off as needed to optimise the distribution of light. The Dynamic Light Assist advanced main-beam control function lights your way without dazzling other road users.⁠

Innovision combines navigation, In-Car Shop, Infotainment and the ID. Cockpit into a digital experience that is intuitive to operate and seamlessly integrates into your everyday life. All functions interact meaningfully and ensure a networked user experience in the vehicle. The 26 cm (10.2-inch) ID. Cockpit can be displayed in a 'retro' look upon request – as a homage to the classic design of the first Golf. In the infotainment display, you can also activate selected retro elements that bring classic details to life digitally.
The In-Car Shop provides access to a large number of apps, for example, for audio, video streaming, parking, charging or gaming. This allows the system to be flexibly expanded with suitable digital extras. Functions such as navigation can also be added as required.

The Innovision infotainment system is controlled using a 32.7 cm (12.9-inch) touchscreen. Integrated loudspeakers in the front area deliver a balanced sound experience. The 26 cm (10.2-inch) ID.Cockpit can be displayed in an optional ‘retro’ look, which pays tribute to the classic design of the first Golf. Connect your smartphone wirelessly via Bluetooth, stream podcasts and playlists from the Internet and use digital DAB+ radio reception.In addition, USB-C ports with a charging capacity of up to 60 W enable convenient charging for mobile devices, including laptops.
With the Innovision Pro infotainment system, standard on Style, you can get in and start using the navigation system straight way – without any detours. Loudspeakers at the front and rear provide you with an enhanced sound experience.Connect your mobile phone wirelessly via Bluetooth, stream your favourite online podcasts and playlists, and enjoy digital DAB+ reception. You can even charge your laptop using the USB-C ports with a charging capacity of up to 60 W. With the 32.7 cm (12.9 inch) touchscreen, you can use selected mobile phone apps quickly and easily via App-Connect and enjoy the digital services offered by VW Connect Plus. The IDA voice assistant also lets you conveniently operate your Infotainment system with your voice. From now on, you can access the artificial intelligence tool ChatGPT whilst travelling – to get more information, do research or simply for your entertainment. 

The optional heat pump heats up the vehicle interior of your ID. with less energy than with a traditional heating system. This can have a positive effect on the range.In comparison with a combustion-engine vehicle, the drive components of an electric vehicle do not produce sufficient waste heat in order to adequately heat the vehicle interior. The solution? A heat pump system compresses refrigerant under high pressure. The heat produced is used to heat up cold air that is flowing through the system. This uses less energy from the battery for the high-voltage heater and can help to increase the range compared with electric vehicles without a heat pump.
The heat pump uses the refrigerant CO₂ (R744), which occurs naturally in nature – as an alternative to the conventional use of fluorinated refrigerants. This provides an energy-efficient way to heat your ID., even when it’s cold outside.

The optional Park Assist Plus system is not just able to tell you whether a parking space is big enough as you drive by – it also parks for you. Up to a speed of 25mph, it will search for suitable parallel parking spaces – parking bays up to a speed of 12 mph. Once you have decided on a parking space, you can start the parking manoeuvre. Park Assist Plus takes care of everything for you: steering, accelerator and brakes. All you have to do is monitor the parking manoeuvre. Park Assist Plus can also drive out of parallel parking spaces again.

The optional Park Assist Pro function can do more than just tell you whether a parking space is big enough as you drive by – it can also park for you. Up to a speed of 25mph, it will search for suitable parallel parking spaces – parking bays up to a speed of 12mph. Once you have decided on a parking space, you can start the parking manoeuvre. Park Assist Pro takes over everything for you: steering, acceleration and braking. All you have to do is monitor the parking manoeuvre. Park Assist Pro can also drive the vehicle out of parallel parking spaces again.

Park Assist Pro also makes getting in and out of the car easier – without having to squeeze into tight spaces. It offers you the option to start the automatic parking process via the Park Assist Pro app.

The optional Area View function makes parking and manoeuvring easier for you: four cameras capture the area around your vehicle in a 360° view and show you kerbs, parking markings and obstacles clearly on the infotainment display. Area View also shows you areas that are outside of your immediate field of vision, so you can even see ‘round the corner’.

If you are unable to steer the vehicle due to an impairment or emergency situation during a journey, Emergency Assist can recognize this situation. The system will first attempt to re-establish its connection to you. If this is not successful, it will take control of the vehicle and bring it to a standstill to prevent potential accidents or reduce their severity. If you are driving on a motorway, Emergency Assist can use an automatic lane change to steer your vehicle onto the hard shoulder and bring it to a halt there.

The Automatic Emergency Braking system with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring can warn you of potential accidents involving other road users and, if necessary, automatically perform emergency braking for you.

Above 40mph, Lane Assist lane keeping system can detect if your vehicle leaves its lane unintentionally. With corrective steering intervention, it focuses your attention back on the driving situation and keeps your vehicle in its lane.
If you nevertheless cross the lane marking, it will also warn you with a vibration in the steering wheel.

The optional proactive occupant protection system can detect precarious situations with the potential to cause an accident and automatically take precautions depending on the situation.

The optionally available traffic hazard alert can warn you, for example, of road works or approaching emergency vehicles.

In addition, vehicles equipped with traffic hazard alert can also communicate with each other and thus draw attention to themselves in the event of a breakdown or accident. The communication uses V2X technology via Wi-Fi.

The optional IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights offer optimised light distribution by allowing individual LED segments to be selectively switched on or off. The improved lighting power of the dipped beam impresses particularly in the dark and in difficult weather conditions, aided by the poor weather light with its wide but short light cone.

Other highlights include the welcome light animation and the daytime headlights signature.

The optional advanced main-beam control Dynamic Light Assist can prevent other road users from being dazzled by your main beam headlights. The system can detect oncoming vehicles and vehicles ahead and mask them out of your main beam area. Dynamic Light Assist advanced main-beam control can also help to reduce glare from reflective traffic signs. On motorways, Dynamic Light Assist advanced main-beam control can detect vehicles in the oncoming lane and mask them out of the main beam area.

When driving in built-up areas, the system also automatically switches from main beam to dipped beam. This means that you can drive for longer and more often with the main beam on. Streets are thus better illuminated and obstacles can be detected earlier.
