Power and performance
The ABT eTransporter 6.1’s electric drivetrain doesn’t compromise on power. The standard 83kW electric motor packs 200 Nm of torque and can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 17.4 seconds. Built to the high standards of quality you’ve come to expect from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, the motor is lighter, quieter and smoother to drive than ever before. Plus, the ABT eTransporter 6.1’s payload is not compromised, as the compact batteries are fitted below the load area. We’re so confident in the quality of the ABT eTransporter 6.1, that the high voltage battery comes with an eight years or 100,000 miles warranty (whichever is soonest) on all material or manufacturing defects
With a high load capacity and a wide range of equipment as standard, the ABT eTransporter 6.1 is built with your business in mind. Driving the ABT eTransporter 6.1 means zero road tax (VED) and lower running and servicing costs, saving you and your business money. Plus, because the ABT eTransporter 6.1 is zero-emissions, it’s also exempt from low emission zone charges, including the London Congestion Charge. The government now offers grants that can lower the sale price of your electric vehicle and even cut the cost of installing at-home charging stations. You can take advantage of these money-saving initiatives that make going green more affordable as well as practical. The ABT eTransporter 6.1 is currently gaining qualification for this grant.
Extra peace of mind comes as standard in the ABT eTransporter 6.1. With eight fastening aids which ensure your cargo is held firmly in place when driving. Extra features available include:
- Half height hardboard side panels in the load compartment as standard
- Load compartment fitted with eight adjustable lashing eyes as standard
The new Transporter T6.1 panel vans offer many of the same great features as the previous models, but with the added bonus of even more space, a new style and updated technology.
With a redesigned front end and interior, total connectivity, and more space than ever before, it’s a van you’ll soon fall in love with. Plus with Volkswagen’s latest driver assistance systems and Euro 6 compliant drivetrains including 4MOTION, you can drive in total confidence.
To make sure that every drive ends as stress-free as it begins, the Transporter panel van is equipped with various safety systems, which are activated in critical situations to protect you.
Setting a new standard in driving safety, Volkswagen are the first to include Front Assist with City Emergency Braking as standard across their van range. Using a radar sensor, Front Assist detects when the vehicle in front is too close. It will warn you and prepare the vehicle for braking. If nothing changes, it partially applies the brakes, giving you a better chance of avoiding or minimising a collision.
City Emergency Braking works in combination with Front Assist. When you’re travelling up to 18 mph it will automatically prepare the brakes if a collision is likely. If the driver doesn’t brake then the system will do it automatically.
Introducing Driver Steering Recommendation, a new feature for the Transporter 6.1 range.
The system is designed to help stabilise the vehicle as you drive, and gently intervenes if it detects oversteer around corners.
Adaptive Cruise Control, or ACC (standard on Highline trim) takes cruise control to the next level. Once you’ve set the speed, the front sensor measures your distance from the vehicle in front and adjusts your speed to maintain a safe distance from the vehicles in front.
When in traffic the Transporter 6.1 range will automatically come to a complete standstill, and then pull away once it detects that the vehicle in front has moved (DSG models only).
Launching as part of the T6.1 range, We Connect offers drivers a huge range of new features thanks to the increased connectivity of the T6.1 range. These features include:
All-new across the T6.1 range, the integrated SIM card (eSIM) comes as standard with the new infotainment systems. The eSIM opens up a range of online-based functions and services to T6.1 owners.
For example, following an accident, eCall automatically send the vehicle location to an emergency response centre and establishes a voice connection. If the driver doesn't respond, eCall automatically informs the emergency services. Internet connectivity also lets the T6.1 access the new 'We Connect' world of mobile online service (MOS).
Driver, front passenger and side/head airbags give the best possible protection in the event of head-on and side impacts. The front passenger airbag can be deactivated using the vehicle.
If seatbelts aren't fastened, the seatbelt warning reminds the driver and the front passenger to fasten their belts with a visual warning when the engine is started, and an audible warning after setting off.
Electronic Stabilisation Programme (ESP)
Prevents under- or over-steering via targeted braking of individual wheels.
Anti-lock braking system (ABS)
Prevent the wheels from locking-up while maintaining manoeuvrability.
Traction control system (TCS)
The Transporter 6.1 panel van has LED lighting throughout the interior, including in the cargo area as standard.
Total flexibility. The Transporter 6.1 comes with either a large tailgate or versatile rear wing doors, both available in glazed or solid metal.
Simple and flexible
The Combined Charging System (CCS) socket on the new ABT eTransporter 6.1 provides a flexible charging solution, combining the ability to charge via both AC and DC. This means you can easily charge your vehicle at home or on the go. If you need to charge while away from home, there is an ever-expanding network of public charging points across the country.
You can also charge at home via a domestic 3-pin socket4 or a wallbox. A Type 2 charging cable is included with the vehicle as standard.
Top-up in no time
Conventional alternating current (AC) chargers will recharge an electric vehicle overnight. However a direct current (DC) charger works much faster. With power up to 50kW at their disposal, a DC charger can bring the ABT eTransporter 6.1 from 0-80% in as little as 45 minutes5. If charging at home, a wallbox provides you with up to 55% approximately higher charging performance and consequently shorter charging time than a normal domestic mains socket. With help from a Government grant, you can get up to 75% off the total costs of installing the wallbox, along with any other associated installation costs (capped at £350 incl. VAT).
How far you can drive in your electric vehicle depends on a variety of factors including driving style, temperature, road surface and payload. In standard conditions your ABT eTransporter 6.1 can travel up to 82 miles on a single charge1.
The Caddy panel van includes an impressive range of comfortable features: intelligent mobile online services which get you to your next appointment faster, climate control that makes your working day more comfortable and user-friendly connectivity to keep you informed and entertained on the road.
The Composition Colour system is your gateway to digital radio and total smartphone integration. This system comes with:
The optional Discover Media navigation system comes with a larger touchscreen and a comprehensive navigation system with up-to-date European maps along with points of interest and speed limits. The whole package includes:
Available as an option with the Composition Media DAB+ radio system or Discover Media navigation system. App-Connect allows you to operate special apps via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The screen of your smartphone can be shown on the radio system’s display.
With a wide variety of storage options, keeping your ABT eTransporter 6.1 panel van organised and free from clutter is made much easier. Storage options include:
The multifunction steering wheel gives you a range of controls at your fingertips, so there's no need to take your hands off the wheel. You can switch tracks, tune in to a different radio station or turn up the volume, all without taking your eyes off the road for a second.
The standard multi-function display plus shows current information such as the time, remaining range, navigation instructions, outside temperature, average consumption, and a gear recommendation for more fuel efficient driving
It gives you a good grip and is extremely user-friendly. The radio or navigation system, a mobile phone or the cruise control can be controlled using the buttons.
A perfect match: Volkswagen and ABT e-Line
We're delighted to collaborate with ABT e-Line, a company that is considered a pacesetter for electric mobility for both motorsport and road vehicles.
Together we have introduced the ABT eTransporter 6.1, an all-electric version of the iconic Transporter 6.1 and our first fully electric van in the UK. Replacing the internal combustion engine with an electric power train has the potential to greatly reduce greenhouse gas emissions from the transportation sector.
Terms and Conditions: Important information : 1. Figures shown are for comparability purposes and were obtained after the battery had been fully charged. Mains electricity required for charging. Only compare electric range figures with vehicles tested to the same technical procedures. Figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the starting charge of the battery, accessories fitted (post-registration), variations in weather, driving styles and vehicle load. 2. On the Road (OTR) includes: First Registration Fee, Delivery to Van Centre, Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) and Number Plates. Pricing subject to change including in the event of change in the applicable VED or VAT rates. Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles may change RRPs at any time (this includes where there are government changes in regulation and/or legislation). There may be a delay to any RRP displaying correctly on our materials. Always obtain prices from your chosen Van Centre. From 1 April 2020, the official CO2 emissions values used to calculate Vehicle Excise Duty (VED) charges changed for all passenger carrier registrations in the UK, due to a change in the method of testing. This will affect the recommended 'on the road' price you pay (in most circumstances, prices will increase). Choice of wheels and other options may affect fuel consumption and emissions data (which may affect the amount of VED payable and therefore the ROTR price). Please consult your local Van Centre for details of VED charges and recommended 'on the road' prices applicable to passenger carriers registered after 1 April 2020. 3. These figures were obtained after the battery had been fully charged. The ABT eTransporter 6.1 is a battery electric vehicle requiring mains electricity for charging. Figures shown are for comparability purposes. Only compare fuel consumption, CO2 and electric range figures with other vehicles tested to the same technical procedures. These figures may not reflect real life driving results, which will depend upon a number of factors including the starting charge of the battery, accessories fitted (post-registration), variations in weather, driving styles and vehicle load. Zero emissions while driving. Data correct at [05/20]. 4. Home charging using a domestic socket will depend on the condition and suitability of the wiring in your home. Always consult a qualified electrician before charging when using a domestic socket for the first time, or, if the socket is to be used as the primary source of charging. Domestic sockets on the same circuit as other appliances, particularly those in frequent use, will draw additional amperage which may result in a breaker switch being 'tripped'. Establishing a separate circuit for home charging will help ensure your electric vehicle is supplied with a consistent, uninterrupted current. For optimum charging, we recommend installing an electric vehicle charging point at home. Please ensure your plug is standard, fully functional and correctly installed before using it to charge your car. 5. Charging times will depend on various factors, including temperature, state of the battery, state of and capabilities of the charging unit and power supply. Actual charging time will vary depending on the level of charge in the battery, as well as environmental conditions. Charging times will also be affected by the charging curve for example once charging passes 80%, charging will slow to protect the battery’s longevity. Images are for illustration purposes only. Vehicle shown may not reflect UK specification.
