Nissan Note

New Nissan Note in Winchester, Hampshire

Bringing stylish intelligence to the world of MPVs, the Nissan Note is a practical car that turns heads on the road. As a car designed for the city streets, it is compact and easy to drive, making it the ideal family car.

Exterior

The Note’s exterior is designed in contours, giving it an atmospheric quality. Its nose comes to a point, marked by an inverted triangular grille and chiselled headlights. The large front air intake and fog lights are nestled below. Across the frame are deep sculpts, from chisels at the nose to mouldings on the sides and a sunken contour across the tail.

At just over four metres in length the Note is the size of a supermini, making it practical for nipping across the city. Just like a supermini, it has extra sporting features and if you go for the Acenta trim you’ll also get privacy glass. As the sportiest trim, the N-Tec comes with a carbon-look rear bumper, satin-silver door mirrors and an aerodynamic front bumper.

Interior

Practicality meets style in the interior as well. It has been cleverly designed to give you the flexibility you need for driving the Note every day, as well as on weekends away with the family. The rear seats fold down in four different ways, so you can easily get bulky items like pushchairs, suitcases and bikes into the car, even with children on board. There’s a handy flexiboard in the boot which folds down to create a shelf for separating your baggage; for example, keeping muddy trainers and wellies away from the coats.

In the cockpit, you’ll still feel that you’re driving a well-appointed car. All controls are arranged on a central panel on the dashboard, with a striking circular design for the heating and a screen displaying the current temperature (Acenta Premium trim upwards). This central column is lit with an ambient glow and there’s striking lighting on the rev and speed counter, giving it a luxurious feel.

Performance and safety

The Note’s performance excels in terms of fuel efficiency. It has a handy dial which tells you how eco-friendly each drive is, which can help you adapt your drive the next time. A start/stop button helps you to save on fuel by cutting the engine when you’re stopped in traffic without your feet on the clutch. There’s even an Eco button to take the guesswork out of optimum driving techniques for saving fuel.
Engine choices include two petrol 1.2-litre units; one is supercharged and the other has traditional mechanics. There’s also a 1.5-litre diesel on offer which is the most fuel-efficient, achieving as much as 78mpg combined.
Safety systems include ABS and ESP to help prevent any skidding when you gain speed and need to take corners. If you choose the N-Tec or Tekna, you’ll also get blind spot monitoring, lane departure warning and moving object detection systems. These act as extra pairs of eyes to prevent a collision.

Technology

The Note has lots of technology as standard including a CD player, radio and USB connection. Cruise control is also included, and a speed limiter helps you to stay well within the limit without any effort from you. Upgrade to the Visia trim for Bluetooth connectivity, and the Acenta for inbuilt steering wheel-mounted controls. The Acenta Premium comes with satellite navigation displayed on a 5.8-inch touchscreen, and the N-Tec also has a reversing camera.
